Ginna Holsinger is Merck’s Associate Director, Marketing for the insomnia franchise, where she is responsible for the consumer, patient, and social media strategy for BELSOMRA in the US. Ginna led the development of all the branded consumer and patient materials in support of the brand’s launch, including the BELSOMRA DTC campaign which launched in the second half of 2015.
Since joining Merck in 2000 as a Health Science Associate, Ginna has advanced through the organization in a number of progressively responsible sales and marketing roles. As a market research analyst, she supported the launch of VYTORIN and then the development of the Hospital Customer strategy. She served as the scientific strategy lead for the US diabetes franchise before moving to marketing communications. There, she led the development and execution of the communication strategy for both HCPs and Consumers for various brands in the respiratory and atherosclerosis franchises.
Ginna received her BS in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University and her PhD in Biochemistry, also from Vanderbilt. She lives in suburban Philadelphia with her husband, John, and their 2 children, Luke (12) and Claire (9). She spends most of her weekends watching her children play soccer. When she’s not cheering for them from the sidelines, Ginna enjoys reading, cooking, and drinking wine with her husband and friends.
