Global Director – Brand Development & Innovation, Pfizer
Karen Lazan is Global Director of Brand Development and Innovation at Pfizer. Her current focus is leading a major initiative in the Consumer Division’s Healthy Aging Innovation area.
Prior to this role, Karen worked as a Marketing Director for Pfizer’s US growing smoking cessation business, Chantix, leading cross-functional initiatives that leveraged new digital and emerging channel innovation. Her passion is to leverage creativity and new thinking to help motivate consumers, drive innovation, and revitalize brands.
In her 17 years at Pfizer, Karen has held roles spanning various aspects of Consumer Marketing and Innovation including leading consumer marketing for brands including Lipitor, Aricept, and Premarin.
Karen was a DTC Perspectives Hall of Fame award winner in 2015 and has a unique background, with marketing experience in Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Packaged Goods, and OTC products. Prior to joining Pfizer, Karen worked in positions of increasing responsibility in brand management at Colgate Palmolive, Bayer’s Consumer Care Division, and Sterling Health on a wide range of products.
Karen has an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a BS cum Laude from Cornell University. A lover of art, design, and NYC culture, Karen lives in Northern NJ with her husband, Jonathan, and is the proud mother of a four year old son named Owen.
