Mark Bard

Mark Bard is a new media, marketing, and technology entrepreneur. He is currently focused on launching a non–profit organization — the Digital Health Coalition — with the mission of  fostering innovation in the digital health space. The Coalition includes global health market leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, policy experts, and academic leaders with an interest in the future of health online. Mark was a co-founder of Manhattan Research, a leading research and advisory firm with a client base of global health and pharmaceutical clients. The firm was acquired by Decision Resources and Providence Equity Partners (PEP) in 2008. With deep expertise in the digital health space, Mark’s focus and passion includes mobile, social, search, and customer service in a digital world. With over 15 years of industry experience, Mark is an internationally recognized expert on topics including the Internet and the healthcare system, new media, health information technology trends, mobile, social, and pharmaceutical sales and marketing.

 

Bill Drummy

Bill Drummy is the Founder and CEO of Heartbeat Ideas, a 13-year old marketing innovation company specializing in sales and marketing solutions for the healthcare, wellness, and beauty industries.  Bill is an expert on digital healthcare with over 20 years of experience and has been named one of pharma’s “100 Most Inspiring People” by PharmaVOICE.  He regularly writes and speaks on industry issues and has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences.

 

Joan Mikardos
Senior Director Digital Center of Excellence

Joan Mikardos has over 20 years media experience across a variety of industries and she joined Sanofi US in 2007. She is Senior Director, Digital Center of Excellence. In her tenure at Sanofi US., she developed a media capability for the company that drove more strategic use of media investments across all channels. She previously had oversight of the company’s media investments. In her current role, Joan focuses on identifying and developing application of new digital communications tools, including social media, across the organization.

Prior to joining Sanofi US., Joan spent many years on the agency side.  She was an SVP, Managing Director at Universal McCann/J3 where she led media planning for J&J’s McNeil Consumer Healthcare division. She was a driving force in testing new technologies for those brands and altering the company’s media mix.

Joan also spent twelve years at BBDO/OMD. While there, she managed the Visa business for eight years and also gained experience on many package goods accounts. She was instrumental in Visa’s first use of the web as an advertising vehicle in the mid ‘90s.

Joan lives with her husband Danny and three children, John, Daniel and Sharon in Mahwah, NJ. When not at a ballgame or soccer match, Joan and her family can be seen on the weekends behind the counter at her husband’s family’s homemade chocolate shop.

 

Nancy R. Phelan
VP, Customer Strategy and Operations
Bristol-Myers Squibb

Nancy has nearly 20 years of sales, managed care and marketing leadership experience in healthcare.  She is a proven leader in pharmaceutical marketing with deep expertise in customer marketing, including: segmentation, positioning, advertising, digital, relationship marketing, public relations, media and blockbuster launches, including Claritin OTC and Vytorin.  Her broad commercial leadership experience within pharmaceuticals and co-promotes spans many therapeutic areas, including:  allergy, respiratory, anti-infectives, rheumatology, depression, women’s health, dermatology,  hematology, gastrointestinal and specialty neuroscience.

Before entering into pharmaceuticals, Nancy began her career with Xerox and entered into pharmaceuticals as a representative, holding several roles of increasing responsibility including Sales Manager for the Philadelphia and Manhattan districts before entering marketing.  Nancy held several positions within marketing for Schering-Plough, including Senior Director, Consumer Communications and in that capacity was responsible for Claritin DTC, before working to transition it to OTC.  Additionally, Nancy and her team launched Clarinex DTC and also helped to develop the consumer launch for Vytorin.   Nancy and her team were among the first in pharmaceuticals to launch a healthcare app and use gaming to engage consumers in health.

During her tenure at Wyeth, now Pfizer, she and her Consumer Communications and e-Marketing team established all consumer marketing training and consumer marketing standards and procedures across all Rx brands at Wyeth as well as partnering with brand teams in the development and implementation of brand specific consumer marketing.

Nancy recently joined Bristol-Myers Squibb Company as Vice President, Customer Strategy and Operations.

Nancy is married to her husband Rob and they have 2 children, Greyson and Ashlyn, and a dog named Buddy.  In her free time, Nancy enjoys running, reading, and cooking.  Nancy is active in many charities including Reach Out and Read.
